Hello! My name is Reese and I’m 17 years old — turning 18 very soon (March 20), which is exciting and terrifying! Mostly the latter. Through a series of convoluted convictions, I don’t wish to broadcast in a public format, I left my school after the first quarter of my senior year. What my (wonderful) school encompassed was a very heavy work-load, where you were expected to consume and produce much. You can imagine the sort of space I was left with after I decided to leave. I’ve had more opportunity to enjoy and serve my family, to work for my Dad’s business (Elpis & Wood Furniture), learning to cook, and dive into books I’ve been wanting to read — but my sense of contribution intellectually, I used to have at my school, has diminished pretty significantly. I hope to address that void by writing about my many studies and interests on here and producing material for cordial discussions :) Starting with my observations about discussions that need to happen regarding Social Media, and the rate at which technology is progressing — through my interest in the documentary, “The Social Dilemma”, a book I’m reading right now called, “Amusing Ourselves to Death” by Niel Postman, and the possible future use of a technology Elon Musk is producing called Neura-Link, that connects directly into your brain (yikes).
